Sound attenuator PZ. Rectangular sound attenuators, type PZ are designed for air conditioning and ventilation systems.
- Splitters are made out of non flammable, sound absorbing rock wool.
- Significant sound attenuation occurs in frequency range between 63Hz and 8000Hz.
- Splitter surface is resistant to particle erosion up to velocities of 20m/s. Splitters are aerodynamically shaped to reduce pressure drop up to 30%. Splitters are designed in three standard thicknesses: d=100mm, 200mm and 300mm.
- Standard gaps between splitters are 50, 100 and 200mm. Attenuators casing is made out of galvanized steel.
- Attenuators heavier than 300kg are supplied in two or more sections, each single section lighter than 300kg. On special request, sound attenuators can be made in non standard dimensions and out of stainless steel AISI 304 or AISI 316L.
- Absorption material is rock wool, non flammable class A2, according to HRN 4102, Part 1.
- Maximum permitted continuous operating temperature is 250°C. Due to sound transmission trough tin plates of attenuator casing, the highest achievable insertion loss amounts to 40dB. If a higher value is required, total loss should be divided into two elastically coupled attenuators.
Glass fibre silk (S) – Very thin protective cover (only 0,12mm) applied to the splitter surface by special process. The splitter surface – low air permeability, impermeable for water, prevent erosion (up-lift of mineral wool particles) caused by air circulation.
Reflective plates (RS) – Half of each side of splitter is fitted with galvanized sheet plated, giving the splitter better attenuation characteristics at frequency of 250Hz.
Perforated plates (PS) – At air velocities higher than 20m/s, or when polluted air is a medium, the splitters should be fitted with protective perforated galvanized sheet plates, having no significant effect on sound attenuation.
Acoustic properties of Klimaoprema sound attenuators are tested according to EN ISO 7235, by Heat and Thermal devices laboratory, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture , University of Zagreb, Croatia.
